How to Reline Your Dentures

Follow along with this guide by using the Denture Reline Kit or any set of dentures (full or partial, upper and lower).

Dentures are a removable set of false teeth that sit on a plate, which is usually made from plastic or metal. Using this kit, you'll reline your existing denture using imitation gum material to create a fully customised fit.

Our pink gum material is made from a non-toxic plastic that softens when heated and hardens when cooled. Best of all, it can be reused and reshaped over and over again. So if your denture isn't a perfect fit at first, you can keep reheating and adjusting it until it is.

Contents

  • Pink gum material
  • White thermal beads

Guidelines

  1. Fill a saucepan halfway with water and bring to a boil.
  2. Place a pink gum strip into the hot water. Within seconds, it will become fully transparent and pliable.
  3. Optional: if you need to lighten the colour to match your gums, gradually add and incorporate a small amount of white thermal beads until you achieve your perfect shade match.
  4. Use a utensil to remove the pink gum material from the water. Careful, it may be hot! If you do not need to use the entire strip, you can select the required amount and set aside any excess.
  5. Work the material around the gums and palate of your denture as needed, removing any excess material until you achieve your desired look and fit.
  6. You can continue to reshape the material until you are fully satisfied. If the gum material has hardened while you're still working with it, submerge it in hot water to soften it. If additional gum material is required, simply heat another strip and add it where needed.
  7. Allow the material to fully cool and harden.

Your dentures are now ready for use! Add denture adhesive for extra staying power if required.
